Energy Department Identifies Federal Lands for AI Data Center Construction

Energy secretary says the U.S. “can and will win” the race for AI dominance.

The Department of Energy (DOE) released a request for information seeking input into which areas of federal land are most appropriate for the “rapid” construction of artificial intelligence (AI) data centers. The department has identified 16 potential sites for the fast-track permitting of these constructions, and information from data center developers, energy developers, and the general public will help them narrow down their options.

“The global race for AI dominance is the next Manhattan project, and with President Trump’s leadership and the innovation of our National Labs, the United States can and will win,” Energy Secretary Chris Wright said. “The Department of Energy is taking important steps to leverage our domestic resources to power the AI revolution, while continuing to deliver affordable, reliable, and secure energy to the American people.”

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For Secretary Wright to seek God’s direction as he heads the Department of Energy.
  • For discernment for U.S. energy officials and artificial intelligence developers as they seek to stay ahead of other nations.
